Quality Woven Labels USA

Quality is determined before a single thread enters the loom. Thread selection, color specification, weave construction, and loom precision all determine whether the finished label exactly represents your brand mark. Peach Labels uses Jacquard loom production with pre-dyed thread — color through the entire fiber, not on its surface.

The four dimensions of woven label quality

Thread count and detail resolution

  • Higher thread count = finer detail. More thread passes per centimetre means logos with hairline strokes, small enclosed letterforms, or complex mark geometry resolve cleanly. Low thread count produces stepped, pixelated results at fine scales.
  • Damask achieves the highest thread count. Finer thread in higher density than standard taffeta weave. The preferred specification for any brand mark with complexity or any skin-contact placement.
  • Thread count also determines reverse-face softness — the face that contacts skin at neck and side-seam placements. This is why damask is required for neck labels.

Color permanence

  • Pre-dyed thread holds color indefinitely. The color goes all the way through the fiber cross-section — no surface layer to crack, fade, or peel after washing.
  • Surface-dyed thread fades. Some suppliers apply color after weaving via surface dye or ink coating. These labels fade visibly within 20–50 wash cycles. Pre-dyed thread produces no comparable fading under any normal washing condition.
  • Batch-to-batch color consistency. Pantone-referenced pre-dyed thread ensures reorders match the original batch accurately — six months later or two years later.

Standard vs damask — which is right for you?

Standard (taffeta) weave

The correct choice for most mid-garment placements: side seams, hem labels, and anywhere the label is not in direct skin contact. Sufficient thread count for most brand marks at sizes of 25 mm and above. Lower cost than damask at equivalent dimensions.

Damask — the premium construction

Required for neck labels and all skin-contact placements. Sharper detail resolution for complex logos. The soft reverse face is a significant comfort difference for neck labels. Preferred for luxury garments, premium sportswear, and high-end occasionwear. See damask woven labels for full specification.

Dimensional stability

Quality labels don't shrink or distort in washing. Jacquard loom production with correctly tensioned thread produces labels with consistent geometry across the full wash lifecycle — edge finish, fold precision, and face texture all remain unchanged.

Consistent at any order size

The same loom, same thread, same settings at 50 pieces and 5,000 pieces. Free artwork review and a digital proof on every order before production begins. Your loom programme is retained for reorders — batch-to-batch matching is guaranteed.

How to evaluate quality before ordering

Order a sample pack first

  • The most reliable way to evaluate production quality is to hold and examine actual labels.
  • A Peach Labels sample pack includes both standard and damask construction, multiple fold types, and color examples.
  • Wash the sample before judging — a quality label looks identical before and after 10 wash cycles.

Check the right things

  • Check the reverse face, not just the front — thread consistency, absence of loose ends, and weave density are visible on the back.
  • Verify OEKO-TEX® certification — materials independently tested for harmful substances and safe for direct skin contact. Available on request.
  • Compare the digital proof to the finished sample — the accuracy of the match is the definitive quality measure.
Quality signals to look for
  • Pre-dyed thread — color through the full fiber cross-section, not a surface coating
  • Jacquard loom production — programmable precision for consistent geometry across every label
  • Clean edge finish with no thread pull or fraying — reveals correct tension and cutting setup
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification — independently verified for safe skin contact
FAQ

Quality labels, answered

Four factors determine woven label quality: thread count (higher thread count = sharper detail and softer hand), thread colour permanence (pre-dyed thread holds colour indefinitely; surface-dyed thread fades), weave construction (damask produces finer results than standard taffeta), and dimensional stability (quality looms produce labels that don't distort or shrink in washing). Peach Labels uses Jacquard loom production with pre-dyed thread across all constructions.
Standard (taffeta) weave uses a coarser thread count and produces a slightly more textured reverse face. Damask uses a finer thread count, producing sharper detail resolution and a noticeably softer reverse face. Damask is the premium construction — preferred for neck labels, luxury garments, and skin-contact placements where label feel matters.
Order a sample pack to feel the actual label construction, compare fold types, and verify colour matching before placing a production order. The sample shows the exact material and finish you will receive on your production run.
No. The production specification — thread tension, weave density, colour matching, fold construction — is identical at 50 pieces and 5,000 pieces. Larger orders do not receive a lower quality tier. The same loom settings and thread specifications apply across every batch.
