Screen-printed onto soft polyester satin

A care label has one job: stay readable for the life of the garment, through every wash. We achieve that with screen printing — black ink pushed through a fine mesh directly into the satin weave, not sitting on top of it like a heat transfer or a home printout.

The base is polyester satin: smooth and soft enough to sit comfortably against skin, yet stable enough to hold sharp wash symbols and fine print. The result is a label that looks clean on day one and is still legible after hundreds of laundry cycles.

Anatomy of a Care Label

Everything your label needs to include

For US customers, a compliant care label carries four things. Our configurator gives you a place for each of them — so one small label does the whole job.

Brand or heading

Your brand name or the label heading sits at the top — the same crisp print as the rest of the label, in clean black on white.

Fiber content

The fabric breakdown — e.g. “100% Cotton” or “60% Cotton 40% Polyester.” US law requires fiber content on most textile and apparel labels.

Care symbols & instructions

Wash, bleach, dry, iron and dry-clean symbols, plus written instructions. Up to five symbols and multi-line care text per label.

Country of origin

“Made in USA,” “Made in Italy,” and so on. Country of origin is a US labeling requirement for imported and domestic textiles alike.

Decode the Symbols

The five care-symbol families

Care symbols are a universal shorthand — they communicate laundering instructions no matter what language your customer reads. Add up to five, one from each family, straight from the design tool.

Washing

The wash-tub tells the customer machine-wash temperature or hand-wash only.

Bleaching

The triangle shows whether bleach is allowed, non-chlorine only, or not at all.

Drying

The square (with a circle for tumble-dry) covers tumble heat or line / flat drying.

Ironing

The iron shape signals the maximum ironing temperature, or “do not iron.”

Dry clean

The circle indicates professional dry-cleaning, with solvent codes or “do not dry clean.”

Sizing

One trusted size, built for the seam

Care labels are produced at a standard 1.2″ × 2.75″ (3 × 7 cm) vertical size. It's the format that tucks cleanly into a neck or side seam, yet holds a heading, fiber content, care symbols, country of origin, and several lines of care text without crowding.

Smart auto-sizing

Upload any proportion and we resize it to the 3 × 7 cm label automatically — same-ratio files scale cleanly, and other sizes are fitted and trimmed toward the background so your design stays centered.

What Customers Say

FAQ

Care label questions, answered

Every care label is screen-printed onto soft polyester satin. The satin is chosen for garment use — smooth against skin, durable through repeated washing, and stable enough to hold crisp care symbols and fine text. Materials are certified to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, tested for harmful substances and safe for direct skin contact — including baby and children's garments.
We use screen printing. The black ink is pushed through a fine mesh directly into the satin, which gives sharp, wash-fast care symbols and text that stay readable through the life of the garment — far more durable than home-printed or heat-transfer labels.
Care labels are produced at a standard 1.2″ × 2.75″ (3 × 7 cm) vertical size. That portrait format fits neatly in a neck or side seam and leaves room for a heading, fiber content, up to five care symbols, country of origin, and multi-line care instructions.
The minimum order is 50 labels per design. Pricing starts at $18 for 50 labels and drops sharply with volume — as low as $0.05 per label on larger runs. The exact price is shown in the tool before checkout.
The standard care label is crisp black print on a white polyester satin label. Black-on-white keeps wash symbols, fiber content, and care instructions sharp, legible, and compliant-looking — which is exactly what a care label needs to be.
Under US labeling rules, most textile and apparel items need fiber content, country of origin, the manufacturer or dealer identity (such as an RN number), and care instructions. Our configurator gives you a heading, fiber/origin text, care symbols, and multi-line care text so you can include everything in one label.
You can add up to five care symbols — typically one each for washing, bleaching, drying, ironing, and dry-cleaning. In the design tool you click a symbol to add it and click again to remove it.
If you already have a print-ready care label file, upload it and we'll match it. If you're starting from scratch, design it online — type your heading, fiber content, and care text, then pick the care symbols. Both paths show a live preview and instant price.
Labels are screen-printed and sent out in 8–10 business days from artwork approval. Everything ships from Salt Lake City with full tracking and no import fees or customs surprises for US customers.
