For this care label format we only offer black print on a white label. This keeps washing symbols, fiber content and care instructions sharp, readable and compliant-looking.

A care label typically shows washing, drying, ironing and bleaching symbols, fiber and fabric content, and country of origin. You can add all of these as standard care symbols and custom text directly in the configurator.

Laying out care symbols correctly
Care symbols are standardised, and the order they appear in is part of the standard. Getting the sequence and spacing right matters as much as choosing the right symbols — a compliant set laid out badly is still hard to follow.
Keep the standard sequence
Washing, bleaching, drying, ironing, then professional care. The order is conventional across GINETEX and ASTM systems, and buyers scan it positionally rather than reading each symbol. Reordering them to suit a layout makes the label slower to read even when every symbol is correct.
Symbols and words serve different markets
The EU works from symbols; US rules expect written instructions. If you sell into both, print both rather than choosing — the space cost is small next to the compliance risk, and a bilingual layout is easier to design once than to retrofit onto an existing run.
Give the symbols room to stay legible
Care symbols are small by nature and print on a woven satin ground that absorbs a little ink. Crowding them together, or dropping them below roughly 3 mm, turns the difference between a 30° and 40° wash symbol into a smudge. Spacing is what keeps them distinguishable after washing.
Match the label to the garment's real care
The instructions must reflect what the finished garment can actually take, including trims, prints and linings — not just the main fabric. A cotton body with a heat-sensitive print cannot carry a plain hot-wash symbol, and the most restrictive component sets the instruction.
